| SixsixT Filter Adapter |
Well at first glance you can see that the SixsixT
Filter Adapter is going to be a much nicer set up
than the factory faulty airbox set up. The SixsixT
adapter will hold a ProDesign style K&N filter, or
the Dual Banshee style K&N filters.
I chose the Adapter that was set up to use my
Prodesign style K&N Filter. The SixsixT Filter
Adapter also has a spot to hold a K&N case breather
filter, witch most aftermarket Alum. Airboxes dont.
The SixsixT adapter comes with all the hard ware you
need to install, and the K&N Case Breather filter.
Instalation was a snap. First you need to remove the
seat. There is (2) hoses going to the front of the
airbox, take a philips head screw driver and loosen
them up. On the top sid eof the air box there is (2)
10mm bolts holing it in place. The manual will tell
you that you need to remove the rear fenders to get
the airbox off, I found that if you pull the front
of the box the 2 little plastic line up pins will
pop right out of the frame. Then your ready to
install your new adapter. It does not come with
instructions, but if you were able to get the airbox
off you can put the adapter in. It has (2) bolts (2)
nuts, and (4) washers that hold it into place where
the plastic line up pins go in the frame, (from the
factory airbox). Simply put the adapter in place run
the bolts up and clamp the filter on. Then your
ready to bolt the K&N Case Breather on.
The SixsixT airbox elimator works great. It only
take about 15 mins to install. Although this set up
is not recommended for WET or MUDDY areas, it will
work fine for most trails, Dunes, and of course Drag
Racing. And at $55 for the SixsixT Airbox Elimanator
and K&N case breather Filter you can go wrong. If
